Head of Energy & Sustainability

As Head of Energy & Sustainability you will turn our commitments in Energy, Sustainability and WDP’s Climate Action Plan into concrete plans and actions. You will play a leading role in innovatively impacting WDP and you bring our energy business to the next level.

You will be responsible for:

• Defining the vision and strategy behind our sustainability and energy approach and implement them with the help of a team of internal and external collaborators. You will ensure our policies are – at a minimum – in line with the EU’s Green Deal;
• Analyzing trends, data and modelling them around sustainability while screening for risks and opportunities to lower the carbon footprint of our portfolio;
• Searching for technological opportunities to optimize the sustainability of our portfolio: driven by enhanced environmental requirements, the need for improved efficiency and an eye for innovation. In this context, you’ll launch investment programmes that overarch the WDP portfolio;
• Building a business around energy (through investments & services) and sustainability, from an entrepreneurial mindset;
• Watching over the global resource planning on matters Energy & Sustainability, acting as senior project leader for sustainability enhancing projects;
• Working as a business partner to inspire cross-functional teams to provide our clients with innovative solutions and additional services;
• Managing the Energy & Sustainability team and maintain close contact with all the WDP entities in the different countries we’re active in. You report to the COO of our company.

• You preferably have a master’s degree and you’ve previously held a similar position for five years. Your track record demonstrates experience in project and change management;
• You have a strong network within the energy and sustainability market; 
• You have the ability to translate your innovative, visionary and strategic approach into practical, efficient daily operations;
• You combine strategic vision and creative ideas with entrepreneurship and the day-to-day reality of business operations;
• You are an excellent team player and people manager with outstanding communication skills in Dutch, English and French;
• You are a proactive problem-solver with an entrepreneurial mindset and can-do mentality; 
• You are perfectly at home in an entrepreneurial and fast-growing business environment.
