Head of External Communications

As Head of External Communications, you are responsible for defining and executing WDP’s external communication strategy in alignment with the company’s vision and objectives, working closely with the Executive Committee. You develop a strategic overview of the organization and its context, enabling you to efficiently organize, monitor, and evaluate communication activities.
Here’s what you’ll be up to
- Corporate & Financial Communication
- Responsible for developing corporate messaging for financial communication, including quarterly and annual reports, press releases, and investor documentation such as presentations.
- Focus primarily on coordinating communication between WDP and its investors, analysts, and other financial stakeholders.
- Develop and implement a communication strategy aligned with the corporate strategy, enhancing the image and trust of investors through clear and transparent communication about financial performance, strategic direction, and future prospects.
- Manage content creation, editing, and publication of reports in multiple languages (including Dutch, French, and English).
- Organize live calls with investors, quarterly presentations, and press briefings.
- Provide support to the CFO and leadership team with strategic messaging, presentations, and key messages.
- Media & Investor Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, analysts, key media, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate and manage press releases, media interviews, and corporate announcements.
- Ensure transparent and timely communication about significant financial events, such as capital market transactions and business acquisitions.
- Monitor and analyze market trends and investor/analyst sentiment, providing clear feedback to management on WDP’s perception.
- Manage ad-hoc crisis communication with the media to safeguard WDP’s unique reputation.
- Corporate Investor Relations Events & Project Management
- Coordinate corporate events, investor roadshows, Capital Markets Days, Investor Days, and General Meetings.
- Work closely with internal teams and management, as well as manage relationships with external agencies, designers, and content creators to ensure strong branding and high-quality communication.
- Lead projects in the area of external communication.
- Digital & Social Media Strategy
- Strengthen WDP’s social media presence with impactful storytelling and a consistent brand message on platforms such as LinkedIn.
- Keep corporate website content up to date, including financial publications and sustainability reporting.
- Oversee the creation of engaging digital content to enhance corporate reputation and stakeholder engagement.
- Events & Project Management
- Coordinate corporate events, investor roadshows, and General Meetings.
- Manage external agencies, designers, and content creators to ensure strong branding and high-quality communication.
- Take the lead on projects related to external communication.
Here’s your profile
We are looking for an experienced and strategic communicator with:
- A master’s degree in Communication, Economics, PR, or a related field.
- 5 – 10 years of experience in external communication, investor relations, or financial PR, preferably in a corporate, publicly listed environment.
- Extensive knowledge of financial and corporate communication, including annual reports and investor relations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English. Knowledge of French is a plus.
- Experience with social media strategy and digital content creation.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines.
