June 2024 marks the incredible 25-year journey of WDP, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to share this milestone with all of you! This calls for a very special edition of our International #TeamWDP Event: a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to commemorate our achievements and embrace the spirit that defines #TeamWDP.

If you want to build the best warehouses, you need to build the best team! The vibrant city of Barcelona played host to our eagerly anticipated 3‑day Team Event.

The excitement kicked off with arrival flights from all destinations, where shuttles whisked our team members to their hotels. The day began with a warm and welcoming team lunch at a trendy beach bar, where colleagues caught up and new connections were made. This set the stage for an inspiring series of team business meetings in the afternoon, where ideas flowed as freely as the sea breeze.

As the sun began to set, we gathered for a memorable welcome dinner along the beach. The tantalizing taste of tapas, the sound of clinking glasses, and the rhythm of waves created an unforgettable ambiance. And then, we danced the night away at Noxe Barcelona, grooving to amazing beats from the DJ, feeling the unity and energy that define #TeamWDP.

We started the day with a stunning breakfast to fuel our bodies and minds for the day’s activities. The highlight was our team activity: Trencadís. This artistic technique, which involves creating mosaics with irregular forms of glazed ceramics, became a symbol of our collaboration and creativity. Each team decorated a square with a specific design, and when all the tiles were combined, they revealed an amazing design celebrating WDP’s 25 years. This was a beautiful testament to what we can achieve together.

A sunny, chill tapas lunch on the beach followed, and the afternoon offered a choice of relaxing activities. Whether it was a serene catamaran sailing trip, a refreshing swim in the sea, or a discovery bicycle tour exploring Gaudí’s masterpieces and the beautiful city of Barcelona, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

The evening was dedicated to marking WDP’s 25-year journey and honoring our CEOs, Tony De Pauw and Joost Uwents, for their visionary leadership. In a stunning location — Mas Solers — set in a magical backdrop, the entire #TeamWDP welcomed them with a heartfelt rendition of ​“Celebration” by Kool & The Gang.

We danced the night away to the vibrant beats of a live band and a fantastic DJ set, creating memories that will last a lifetime. This event was more than just a celebration; it was a testament to the bonds we’ve built and the shared journey that makes WDP a truly Great Place to Work.

As we look back on these three incredible days, we are reminded of the strength and unity that make #TeamWDP exceptional. The Barcelona event was not just about celebrating our past achievements but also about looking forward to a future filled with promise and potential. Together, we’ve built something amazing, and together, we will continue to reach new heights.
