Still growing, still warm: Griet Heirman on five years of watching WDP scale up
HR Officer Griet Heirman is marking five years at WDP in 2026. To this day, #TeamWDP feels just as warm and welcoming to her as it did when she started. But what has stayed with her most over these years is WDP’s growth. This is her story.
When I joined WDP 5 years ago
When I started at WDP, what struck me immediately was how warm and welcoming the team was. It was a fairly small team at the time, where everyone knew each other well and collegiality was simply a given. That openness created a pleasant working atmosphere right away, and made it easy for me to feel at home quickly.
What WDP means for me today
Today, working in HR mostly means being a point of contact for colleagues. Listening, thinking along, supporting them so they can focus on their job and do it as well as possible. That’s what gives me energy: making sure people can move forward, that questions get picked up quickly, and that colleagues feel looked after in their day-to-day work.

How I see WDP in the future
For the future, I mostly find it exciting to see where this story will take us next. I’m looking forward to seeing how WDP keeps developing, with the same determination and ambition that’s brought it this far. If we can keep combining that drive with the warm, human atmosphere I felt from day one, then I look ahead with a lot of confidence.
The project I’ll never forget
What has always fascinated me is how fast WDP has grown over the past few years. What makes me proudest is the way it’s happened. WDP is taking Europe step by step, at a fast pace, but with professionalism too. That combination of ambition, decisiveness and flair is remarkable to witness up close. You can feel that there’s a plan, that people are working hard, and that growth here is no accident.
