Lonza Group AG, a Swiss company specialising in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and food production, is expanding. Next to their existing office just off the N16 motorway in Bornem, real estate partner WDP is building a new state-of-the-art warehouse of no less than 18,000 square metres and an office of 500 square metres.

In this project, WDP is once again going all-out for a BREEAM certificate. Greening is not only in WDP’s DNA. ​“Lonza is also keen to take steps towards sustainability,” says Peter Groenewege, the site manager in Bornem.

What does sustainability entail, among other things?

• Charging stations for cars and trucks
• Separate traffic flows
• Solar panels on the entire roof, accounting for at least 10% of consumption

The completion is scheduled in January 2025, today the works start with an official kick-off. Partners of WDP will be festively welcomed with snacks and drinks to celebrate the successful collaboration.
