WDP 116

Lonza Group AG, a Swiss company specialising in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and food production, is expanding. Next to their existing office just off the N16 motorway in Bornem, real estate partner WDP is building a new state-of-the-art warehouse of no less than 18,000 square metres and an office of 500 square metres.

Unique to the warehouse will be the connection between production, logistics and the offices.

A big step towards sustainability

In this project, WDP is once again going all-out for a BREEAM certificate. Greening is not only in WDP’s DNA. Lonza is also keen to take steps towards sustainability,” says Peter Groenewege, the site manager in Bornem.

What does sustainability entail, among other things?

  • Charging stations for cars and trucks
  • Separate traffic flows
  • Solar panels on the entire roof, accounting for at least 10% of consumption

The construction of the new warehouse allows us to realise our growth ambitions in one place.

Official kick-off of the construction

The completion is scheduled in January 2025, today the works start with an official kick-off. Partners of WDP will be festively welcomed with snacks and drinks to celebrate the successful collaboration.
