Celebrating the Brains behind WDP
In 2026, several WDP colleagues are marking 5, 10, 15 and even 20 years with the company. They’ve helped build WDP into what it is today, so it’s their turn to take the spotlight. Meet the Brains behind WDP.
Milestones worth celebrating
Five years or twenty, every anniversary at WDP tells a different chapter of the same story. How did our jubilees experience their time here? What does WDP look like today through their eyes, and where do they see it heading? Read the stories of Geert, Mickael, Annelies and Ruben.
Geert Steppé — 20 years
In Belgium, a 20th work anniversary carries its own name: the “porcelain jubilee”. Geert Steppé reaches his this year, two decades after first walking through WDP’s door in 2006. He’s just as proud to work here today as he was on day one.
Mickael Van den Hauwe — 15 years
Mickael Van den Hauwe joined WDP as CFO in 2011, back when it was still a small SME with a modest market cap. Since then, he’s watched WDP grow into the dynamic, results-driven, people-first company it is today, and helped shape that growth every step of the way. The journey still hasn’t lost its pull for him.
Annelies Schottey — 10 years
Annelies Schottey joined WDP in 2016 as a Technical Assistant, but quickly found her calling as Marketing Coordinator. She felt at home from day one, and she’s still leaving her creative mark on the company today.
Ruben Vandam — 5 years
Ruben Vandam was 22 when he started at WDP. He felt part of the team from his very first day, trusted with real responsibility early on. Five years later, that experience has carried him all the way to Head of Energy & Sustainability at WDP Belgium.
