Andreas Vermost, Head of Business Development BeLux, is celebrating five years at WDP. For him, WDP is an entrepreneurial, dynamic environment where he can genuinely make a difference. He looks back at the highlights of his first five years, and looks ahead to what’s still to come.
When I joined WDP 5 years ago
When I joined WDP, I very deliberately chose an agile, Belgian company. An organisation with a flat structure, an ambitious growth plan, and above all, the chance to make a real impact together with a strong team. I was looking for a place where you don’t disappear into processes, but where you can help set direction. Where entrepreneurship isn’t just a word, but an integral part of our WDP DNA.
What WDP means for me today
Today, WDP means a warm working environment with room for creativity and entrepreneurship, where our clients come first. A place where together we carry forward the admirable work Tony De Pauw started, and where you feel there’s trust to take initiative.”
At WDP, entrepreneurship is more than just a buzzword. It’s an integral part of our DNA.
How I see WDP in the future
The coming years, I hope we keep growing sustainably and internationally toward a pan-European ‘€10 billion+ company’. And above all, that the strong sense of camaraderie, and the fun that comes with it, stays the foundation for further success. Because growth is powerful. But growth with warmth, enjoyment and team spirit? That’s what makes it last.
The project I’ll never forget
The one that stands out for me is the acquisition of the former Renault site in Vilvoorde, in January 2025. An iconic asset, and at the same time a story that challenged us to step outside our comfort zone. We had to think strategically, not just about the future of that site, but about what it meant for WDP as a company. Because we deliberately chose, for the first time, to step outside our traditional asset class. We want to fully embrace value creation, through a combination of functions on one unique location.
Today the site and its tenants are well integrated into the WDP story, and together with various stakeholders we’re working on the masterplan that will shape this location’s future. Real teamwork.
What I take from this project? That a healthy dose of strategic entrepreneurship, creativity and courage isn’t ‘extra’, it’s an essential part of WDP’s projects of the future. It’s exactly what paves the way to reaching our growth targets.
