A warehouse tailored to the distribution flow of METRO
From WDP Park Bucharest – Stefanesti, METRO serves as many as 30 of their stores in Romania. The company is a global market leader in wholesale for HoReCa and independent businesses in food and non-food products.
To optimise the operations, the distribution and operation flow was developed first. Only then did WDP build a warehouse, tailored to their specific needs. “We chose WDP for their technical expertise, their professionalism and their client-oriented approach,” explains Alexandru Scarlat, the Supply Chain Development Manager at METRO.
Special requirements for this project
- An adapted heating system, such as floor heating
- Solar panels on the roof
- To create the space for a meat processing plant within the site
Strategic location
Besides WDP’s approach, the location is also excellent. “We are close to highways around Bucharest,” Alexandru adds. “Moreover, there is a lot of workforce availability in this area.”
