Here’s what you’ll be up to
As part of WDP’s market entry and continued growth, we are looking for a Project Development Manager, with an initial focus on Valencia and the broader East Spain logistics corridor. This is a market-building role requiring an entrepreneurial spirit. Your mission will be to build WDP’s local market intelligence and technical network, identify and qualify opportunities, support the first commercial leads and help translate WDP’s international track record into a credible local market position.
- You act as WDP’s local ambassador in the Valencia logistics ecosystem in close collaboration with the WDP Business Development Manager.
- During the preliminary phase, you are responsible for developing the Master planning and construction concepts including both Build-to-Suit projects & conventional warehousing, taking the client’s needs into account and adhering to WDP standards.
- You provide valuable input for the financial feasibility studies. You integrate energy solutions (e.g. PV, batteries, EV) as an integral part of our development projects. You identify areas for improvement and explore alternative solutions (e.g., related to sustainability). You do this in consultation with your colleagues, as well as with external partners (architects, study companies, tenants, etc.). Together with the architects and engineering firms, you oversee and guide the permitting process.
- During the construction phase, you organize requests for proposals and prepare a comprehensive price comparison of the various bids. You negotiate the terms and, in collaboration with the legal department, draft binding construction contracts. You also proactively follow up with relevant parties and represent WDP at site meetings. You closely monitor the budget, quality, and timeline of the projects and ensure periodic reporting.
- You are responsible for the handover process, reviewing the as-built documentation, the transfer to the Property Manager, post-completion support, and final cost calculations.
Here’s your profile
- You hold a master’s degree in civil or industrial engineering — construction-related.
- You have at least 7 to 10 years of relevant experience as a project manager at a developer, contractor, or multidisciplinary engineering firm.
- You have practical knowledge and insight into the various phases of the construction process. Experience with logistics or industrial real estate is a must.
- You are comfortable working in an entrepreneurial market-entry context, where structure is being built and where you are expected to take initiative.
- You can operate independently, but know when to involve legal, technical, financial and commercial colleagues.
- You are fluent in Spanish and English.
- You are a true team player who collaborates effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- You are a dynamic, enterprising person with a sense of professionalism and a direct, no-nonsense approach.
