On June 8, 2023, WDP’s International Team Day brought together our passionate team members for a day of learning, collaboration, and fun. With our focus on Ownership, a key objective within our Growth Plan 2022 – 2025, we embarked on a journey to strengthen our collaborative spirit and enhance our commitment to excellence. WDP’s commitment to agility and robustness has been instrumental in navigating these exciting times. Let’s dive into the highlights of our remarkable Team Day!

Ownership: The Key to Great Collaboration

At WDP, we firmly believe that ownership is the cornerstone of successful collaboration. To delve deeper into this concept, we had the privilege of hosting two renowned experts: Katleen De Stobbeleir, Professor of Leadership and Coaching, and Koen Dewettinck, Professor of Management Practice in Human Resources Management, both from Vlerick Business School. Their workshops provided valuable insights and practical tools to help us nurture a culture of ownership within our teams.

Workshop and Activities

After the engaging workshops, our teams had the opportunity to participate in various activities. Some explored the historic city of Antwerp, renowned as the city of diamonds, while others enjoyed a workshop in the largest Belgian Chocolate Museum in the world, Chocolate Nation. The choice of activities reflected the diverse interests of our team members, fostering an environment of inclusivity and camaraderie. Additionally, a thrilling boat trip through the Port of Antwerp allowed us to witness the magnitude of international trade and the logistical challenges involved.

Team Bonding and Networking

To conclude our memorable day, we gathered for a delightful dinner at Restaurant Vis van A, where we enjoyed a mesmerizing sunset view of the Schelde River. This informal setting allowed us to strengthen our bonds, share experiences, and forge new connections. The opportunity to meet colleagues from different teams and regions in person further emphasized the global nature of our work and the power of collaboration.

Warehouse of Talent

Our International Team Day not only showcased our commitment to collaboration but also highlighted WDP’s employer branding and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) approach. With our baseline of warehouses with brains,” we understand the importance of stimulating our minds and fostering continuous growth. By investing in workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions, we demonstrate our dedication to personal and professional development. Additionally, our engagement in activities that promote sustainability and responsible business practices aligns with our robust ESG approach, reinforcing our commitment to making a positive impact on society and the environment.
