The development of the WDP Raamsdonkveer project began with a significant challenge: achieving a structural peak load of around 200 kW, while the available grid connection was only 69 kW – with no option for feedback to the grid. In a market where grid congestion increasingly delays or even halts projects, an innovative solution was essential.

From the very first design, we opted for an integrated energy approach. The result: a modular energy hub featuring, among other things, a battery energy storage system (BESS) and an advanced energy management system (EMS). This makes the building largely self-sufficient, flexible, and independent of grid constraints.

This total solution ensures that the building remains operational even during grid congestion or power outages. Thanks to the system’s ​“island function”, maximum business continuity is guaranteed.
